Summary: Pretty darn good. Comment: A very nice cymbal pack for a beginning drummer. It includes everything that would let you learn how to utilize your cymbal pack without being overextravigant. the 16" crash has a semi-dark tone, and is normally used only for it's inetended purpose. The 18" crash included as th bonus cymbal is very useful as a second crash, but doubles as a crash/ride, which is played like a crash, but sounds like a brighter ride. The high hats are very nice. Make sure your stand is "heavy-duty" ennough to support these though, because they are very heavy. The ride has a nice tone on the edge, and a much darker "pinging" sound on the bell, and can be used for many styles of music. Overall, a very versitile cymbal pack, but more useful in the Heavy Jazz-Light Metal range.

Summary: ZBT Comment: Don't buy these/ Sabian B8's and Meinl MCS cymbals sound better than these by far. If you have the money, go w/ the Zildjian A or K customs. save up your money and go with a higher end Cymbal set, don't buy the lowest of the low. take it from somebody who has used the B8's, ZBT's and currently the Meinl MCS series (out of the three the best deal).

Summary: Dont buy them if you care about how you sound. Comment: I'm a beginner and I thought a company like Zildjian would make a quality low-end cymbal. They look nice but the zbt high hats do not have a nice hissy 'shick' sound. Its more like a "Clang" sound, the crashes sound like splashes and the ride is even worse. I was completely disappointed and also very upset that Zildjian would even consider making and selling these. Make no mistake, they sound horrible. These cymbals will not help you sound good if your first starting out. I bought an old Pearl set that came with older Paiste 502 cymbals and I really thought buying a major American brand would help my sound. But, No, I will stick with my Paiste's. I sent them back for a refund. The zbt's also came with major scratches on them and a pre-opened box. Obviously, I got used cymbals that someone also bought, hated and sent back. Take my advise...Dont embarrass yourself like me and fall for thier pitch, free stuff and the eye candy of bright, new Zildjians...your sound is more important. buy used quality cymbals or another brand. these zbt's will not help you sound like a serious beginning drummer. I hope that helps you. -Kevin
